The Jacksonville Cruise terminal will open to embarking passengers at
10:00 a.m.
Parking Information for the Jacksonville Florida Cruise port.
Parking is $12 per day per passenger vehicle, and $20 per day for
oversized recreational vehicles. Cash or major credit cards are
accepted. The parking lot is well lighted, fenced and patrolled by
JAXPORT security 24 hours per day. The lot is located adjacent to the
terminal building, requiring only a short walk. No reservations are
required for parking.
Handicap parking
JAXPORT provides designated handicapped parking spaces. Parking is $12
per day per passenger vehicle, and $20 per day for oversized
recreational vehicles. Exception to parking fee: Florida Statute allows
cruise terminals to charge for handicapped parking, "except any vehicle
with specialized equipment, such as ramps, lifts, or foot or hand
controls, for use by a person who has a disability, or any vehicle that
is displaying the Florida Toll Exemption permit, is exempt from parking
fees". (Per Florida Statute 316.1964).

parking lot to the terminal. Please advise the guard upon entering the
port that you will need assistance.
From North of Jacksonville
Take I-95 South to State Road 9-A South, exit 362-A, (1 mile past
Jacksonville International Airport).
Take State Road 9-A South for six miles to Heckscher Drive exit (State
Road 105).
Turn right on Heckscher Drive (SR 105).
Cross New Berlin Road, and go about ½ mile.
Turn left on August Drive into cruise terminal entrance. Follow signs to
parking.

Take I-95 North, through Jacksonville, to Heckscher Drive, exit 358-A
(State Road 105 North).
Stay on Heckscher Drive/SR 105 North; pass the Jacksonville Zoo, and
travel about four miles.
Turn right on August Drive into cruise terminal entrance. Follow signs
to parking.

Take I-10 East toward Jacksonville
Take I-295 North (this becomes State Road 9-A), exit 356.
Pass the interchange for I-95, staying on I-295/SR 9-A South for six
miles to Heckscher Drive exit.

Cross over New Berlin Road.
Go about ½ mile; turn left into cruise terminal entrance on August
Drive. Follow signs to parking.

Take Atlantic Blvd. West to State Road 9-A North.
Take State Road 9-A over the Dames Point Bridge (also known as the
Napoleon Bonaparte Broward Bridge).

Go about 1 mile, then turn left on August Drive into cruise terminal

JAXPORT's franchised taxi service provides taxi and mini-van service
from the cruise terminal to the airport. (Please call the taxi company
at 904-355-8294 for current prices and reservations.)
While no rental car companies are located at the Cruise Terminal, Avis,
Enterprise and Hertz have direct-connect phones outside the Cruise
Terminal for your convenience. When you pick up the phone, you can speak
with a representative to make arrangements to pick you up.

What are the security procedures at the cruise terminal?
The cruise terminal building and berth for the cruise ship is a
"restricted area" as defined by the Seaport Security Act, F.S. 311.12.
Entry into the cruise terminal building is restricted to authorized
cruise ship's personnel, JAXPORT operations staff and passengers holding
tickets for that particular cruise.
However, vehicle access for passenger drop-off at curb side to the
terminal is unrestricted.

Are there lockers at the cruise terminal for storage?
No lockers are available for cruise passengers.
Are there any restaurants near the terminal? Is there anything else
to do nearby?
There is not a restaurant in the cruise terminal. There are vending
machines with water, soda and snack foods. Restaurants located nearby
are located at the Airport, Downtown and in the Regency areas. For more

Why put a cruise terminal in Northeast Jacksonville?
Dames Point in North Jacksonville is a good location for a temporary
cruise terminal. It is near State Road 9-A and only 15 minutes from
Jacksonville International Airport. JAXPORT is now looking to build a

Who operates the cruise terminal?
JAXPORT owns the cruise terminal building and the JAXPORT Cruise
Terminal site. Carnival and its affliliated companies staff their
offices and operations within the cruise terminal building. The Bureau
of Customs and Border Protection, under the Department of Homeland
Security, clears arriving passengers through the terminal.

Carnival Cruise Lines offered a two-month "brand new ship"
service with their new ship Miracle, from February through April 2004.
The Miracle has left Jacksonville and is servicing another port.
Carnival brought another ship - Jubilee - to service Jacksonville during
the summer months.
