DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From Anchorage Airport:

Take International Airport Road east until you reach Minnesota Drive.
Turn right on Minnesota Drive and follow the signs to the Seward Highway south.
Once on the Seward Highway, you will travel approximately 130 miles to Seward.
Once in Seward, follow the signs to the Alaska Railroad Dock.
The ship can be seen on your left from the highway as you enter Seward.

From Egan Center:

From Egan Center (555 West 5th Avenue), you need to head east on 6th Avenue, following the signs for the Seward Highway south (Gambell Street).
Once on the Seward Highway, you will travel approximately 130 miles to Seward.
Once in Seward, follow the signs to the Alaska Railroad Dock.
The ship can be seen on your left from the highway as you enter Seward.

PROXIMITY TO THE AIRPORTS

The Port of Seward is approximately 140 Miles from the Anchorage Airport. Driving time is approximately 3 1/2 hours by car or motor coach, or 2 1/2 hours via the Alaska Railroad.

Cruises leaving from & departing from Seward, Alaska

If you are taking a southbound Alaska glacier cruise from Seward to Vancouver, your cruise ship will likely depart from Seward in the evening around 7 or 8 pm. Therefore is recommended that you arrive any later than 3:00 pm in Anchorage on the day of your cruise departure.

It is recommend that if your Alaska cruise departs in Seward, you consider arriving a day early and spending the night in Anchorage.  Then taking either a cruise line provided transportation the next morning or a local transfer service. The 3.5 hour motor coach drive from Anchorage to Seward is scenic, often narrated and includes stops along the way.

Cruises arriving or ending in Seward, Alaska

Northbound Alaska glacier cruises from Vancouver to Seward will arrive in Seward around 7 am. The cruise line will begin immediate disembarkation and make every effort to get passengers off the ship by 8:00 am or 9:00 am.

If you are planning a return flight home from Anchorage the same day your cruise returns, it is recommended that you book your flight departing Anchorage at 2:00 pm or later. Again, the 3.5 hour motor coach drive from Anchorage to Seward is scenic, narrated and includes a stops along the way.

TRANSPORTATION TO SEWARD AND COST

All major cruise lines offer transfer services to or from the Port of Seward. One-way motor coach transportation costs range from $65 to 75 per person depending upon the cruise line. Some cruise lines like Holland America, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity also offer a train option that costs about $99 to $119 per person each way.

There are a few local transfer companies that offer independent bus transportation for as little as $45 each way.

The Port of Seward does not have overnight parking
